Up early, we find we are surrounded by green lawns (how pleasing on the eye and feet that is!). A quick pack up, family meeting and we all agree we just want to get there! We decide to push straight through to Airlie Beach. The Scenery quickly changes from semi-arid to more tropical green as we head towards the coast and her sugar caned fringes.
The Big 4 Caravan Park really is a resort with swimming pool, water slides, mini-golf, jumping castles, outdoor big screen and tennis courts – the kids are stoked and for the next 2 days while Pete and I clean out the 6 weeks of rest dust in the van the kids are no-where to be seen, happily exploring all that is on offer. Yes caravan parks are not our favourite places but this place was just what the doctor ordered, we can’t wait for everyone else to get here so the sailing holiday can truly begin.
