Wed 2nd July – Day 53: Stonehaven Bay – Blue Pearl Bay – Butterfly Bay

We are blessed with blazing sunshine and a great sailing breeze as we set sail for the outer islands of the Whitsunday group. Once moored we prepared for some first class snorkelling; we slid on the wetsuits as the water is quite cool for an extended time in. The reef is just off the back of the boat and being a marine park in pristine condition. We immediately settled into the groove with swimming, then lunch, that midday beer and more water sports post afternoon. Each night we nominated a boat for pre-dinner drinks, and around 4ish we would migrate on mass to the chosen vessel with ‘supplies’ to watch the sunset. With so many crew it was inevitable that each night would see at least one player keep going on the evening drinks and claim the night as their own. Digital cameras only help document these performances. That night all the kids tucked into bed totally exhausted after their first full day of onboard adventures.
