Cool overnight and the early morning air is quite fresh, which makes it easier to get the kids sitting down at their desk (really the dining table) and complete some schoolwork. By midday, however the temperature is soaring the van a stifling heat trap.
Pete spends the day trying to fix the battery charger and finally gets it working in the late afternoon, only to have the thing catch on fire soon after – he is not happy and stomps around the camp like a bear with a sore head.
The kids and I escape on bikes back to the refreshing Springs so that by the time we get back he has accepted the situation and given up trying to ‘fix’ anything else.
Another trip to Woolies for BBQ dinner and we all fall into bed exhausted from doing absolutely nothing but worry!
