A small amount of rain overnight, but the clouds cleared as we woke. By 9am the weather was already heating up as we started our long drive towards Exmouth. A strong headwind playing havoc with the fuel consumption and we were all quite dismayed at the flat dreary landscape through which we drove.
Coral Bay survives solely on tourism and is situated on a natural lagoon formed by the Ningaloo reef which runs for 80km, 3-7km offshore. Arriving an hour or so before dark we set-up and then got talking to our next door neighbours who were grey nomads from Mona Vale – such a small world.
Toby then announced that one of his upper corner incisors which has been wobbly for most of the trip it seems, had finally dislodged and come out in the car on the way here. He was reluctant to tell us, as he and Chloe had hatched a plan to see if the tooth fairy was real. Obviously the thought of maybe not getting any money if she wasn’t real was enough to get Toby to tell us of his dilemma. So the tooth was dispatched under his pillow – waiting for magic. Movie night again and we snuggled up in bed (the weather has turned distinctly colder now) to watch ‘Pirates of the Caribbean – At Worlds End’.
