Sun 7th September – Day 120: Kooljaman

HAPPY FATHERS DAY
Up for the predawn again – the light is just about perfect at this time, but the dew makes the sand stick fast to your feet, so once you are up there is no getting back into bed without taking most of the beach with you.
Being Fathers day we did what Pete likes best - we fished, we swam and we fished the day away – I think everyone caught at least 5 fish or more each, some nearly at the magic 30cm eating range. However in the spirit of ‘take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints’ we threw them all back. Unfortunately we did leave behind 3 floats, numerous hooks and a whole packet of squid bait, but they should all disintegrate pretty easily….
Movie night tonight and after dinner we all sat around the picnic table inside our shelter (the roof didn’t have total coverage so the ¼ moon and many stars were our decorations) watching Pete’s choice - Pirates of the Caribbean – Dead Mans Chest, which seemed very fitting.
Beach Shelter ($76/night)
